An Emperor Dragonfly - Anax imperator. It stays in this flipped-back position for around 10-15 minuts after leaving its larval exoskeleton waiting for the chitin of the limbs to harden.

This species undergoes metamorphosis around midnight (they do it in the morning to noon time). Luckily I have this tiny pond in front of my house that is infested with dragonflies.
