Apparently there is more interesting stuff going on below a horse fly than above. Hence it makes sense to have higher density of photoreceptors on the bottom of an eye.
It has the most obscene proboscis I've ever seen on a bug (and of course I had to bring it up and draw your attention to it!).
And the award for most irritating bug in the universe goes to... the horse fly!!
Evolution on the other hand kinda rocks though. Bifocal eyes kinda look hot. I want a pair
Cool...Oakley frogskins are back..!!!!...and even the flies have caught on....hmmm..clever marketing....everyones in 4 a pay rise me thinks..!!..nice shot...!!....
OK, it's one of the oldest photos in my folio, but I'll try: Canon EOS 10D (or was it D10?), Canon 100mm macro USM, Speedlite 420EX mounted (uch, it's a bit tricky...) on the Tripod Mount Ring B, through a piece of bent aluminium with holes innit, so I could rotate the flash around the lens...
I think I used lumiquest Softbox, or home-made soft box of some kind.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm featuring a little part of the deviant community ! Asked few days ago, and requested everyone to show me their 3 favourites photos in their own gallery, and the 3 most popular!
So, here is it.
Follow me if you want to be in the next feature, I'll create a new poll for it soon!
